Bunge scientists found an iodine source that is soluble in sunflower oil. This innovation led to the development of Floriol Iod Protect™, the first iodine-enriched vegetable oil available to consumers in Romania. One tablespoon delivers 10 percent of the daily recommended requirement of iodine and also provides vitamin E and other fatty acids that help the body absorb and process iodine.

Following the product's launch, Bunge initiated a campaign to educate consumers in Romania about the importance of iodine. We also began exploring distribution of the new oil in other countries.
