Green Mountain Power Corporation (GMP) sells electricity and energy services and products to about one-fourth of Vermont's retail electricity customers, serving half of the state's 14 counties. The Company's retail rates are below the average of all major electric utilities in New England.

GMP also sells electric power at wholesale in New England and sells operations services to other utilities in Vermont. With operating revenues of about $229 million, it is the state's ninth largest business in total sales volume and it has about 192 employees.

The Company has ownership interest in facilities that supply 30 percent of its total power capacity of 417 megawatts. The remainder of the generation capacity and 91 percent of the energy GMP distributes is purchased from others.

GMP's common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "GMP". As of December 31, 2004 there were 4,852 registered shareholders.
