| POMONA, N.Y., Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Barr Laboratories, Inc. (AMEX:BRL) today announced that it has received approval from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration to reintroduce Oxycodone with Acetaminophen 5mg/325mg tablets, the generic equivalent of DuPont Pharmaceuticals' Percocet(R) tablets. The Company will begin shipping generic Percocet tablets immediately.
"The approval of the Oxy/APAP complements our launch last year of Barr's generic Demerol tablets," said Bruce L. Downey, Barr's Chairman, President and CEO. "It is our intention to continue to add products to our narcotic analgesic line of medicines, in order to provide our customers with a complete line of generic versions of these important pain relievers." Percocet is used for the relief of moderate to moderately severe pain. Percocet has current annual sales of approximately $64 million.
